Amaza Aluhlaza is the name of our house.

Amaza Alu-what?!?
Let’s just keep it at: ‘The Amaza’.
‘Amaza Aluhlaza’ is isiXhosa and means ‘Green Waves’, inspired by our amazing, tropic-esque garden.
Waves are important to us, and not only for surfing:
Waves are dynamic; they represent movement, flow and progress- journeys of discovery. This we want to do with our place, with us and with you.

We are Cati and Pieter.

We have a toddler boy, 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Both of us have backgrounds in performing arts and wear other badges as
well.

We are located in Hoekwil in the Garden Route, South Africa. We are privileged to live in such a stunning environment, and we are honored to share our space with those who are looking to further their own journeys of discovery.

We offer workshops on a broad variety of subjects, and we are always looking to expand our portfolio, so if there’s something you want to learn, or something you want to teach, or even if you’re just a traveler looking for a cool spot to stay, Amaza is on your wavelength.

The accommodation we offer is a very private, unique and homey one. It’s more like coming home to friends, or at least to friends of your friends. You are a small family? You will love this scene.

Our own production label is firewave:

Fire Shows, African Drum Band, Team Building and Drums&Drama
Workshops.
